Calendar: Rochestertoday Safe Journey Self-Defense Class for Survivors of Domestic Violence, 4-weeks Dates April 12, 19, 26 May 3 General Information Time Afternoon Location Eastern Monroe County Location Phone Number 585.425.1580 Ticket Cost FREE Ticket Phone Number 585.425.1580 Website http://www.safejourney.org Categories Cultural Event Description / Comments The Self-Defense Course for Survivors of Domestic Violence will be held in a secure and confidential, eastern Monroe county location.  The course is conducted by professional karate instructors/sensei.  Participation in the support group is restricted to survivors of domestic violence and subject to pre-qualification.  Space is limited.  You need not be a current Safe Journey client to participate.  Repeat participants are welcome to apply.  The skills and topics covered during the 4-week course include:  personal safety in your home, car and public; your rights as a human being; verbal judo: using your voice as a weapon; and non-gender specific physical self-defense.
